Kamp Vught
Kamp Vught was during WWII the only SS-concentration camp outside of Germany and the area annexed by Germany. The SS needed the space because the transit camps in Amersfoort and Westerbork could not process the increasing stream of prisoners anymore. Contrary to other ‘foreign’ camps, kamp Vught was modelled after other camps in Nazi-Germany. The camp was under direct command of the SS-head office in Berlin.
